La mayoría de las publicaciones de jazz (tesis, estudios, novelas, biografias, discohgrafía, etc), están escritas en inglés, y son pocas las publicaciones que se traducen a otros idiomas.
Y aunque es cierto que la música, a diferencia de otras artes, necesita ser oída, además de sentida, los libros son capaces de recrear y de expresar con la palabra, un fenómeno musical como es la música de jazz. Biografías espeluznantes como la realizada por Ross Russell en su «Bird Lives» relata con objetividad y rigurosidad la vida y obra musical de Charlie Parker; crónicas ejemplares como «Un siglo de Jazz» de Roy Carr, o Guías discográficas para iniciarse en los entresijos de esta maravillosa música como es «Los 100 mejores discos de jazz» de Jorge García, Federico G. Herraiz, Federico González y Carlos Sampayo, son algunos ejemplos de una buena literatura jazzistica.
En esta sección dedicada a los libros de jazz, podrás encontrar de todo: Diccionarios, enciclopedias, guías de grabaciones históricas, biografías, e incluso alguna tesis universitaria dedicada al jazz. En cualquier caso, lo importante es que si os gusta el jazz y la lectura, las disfrutéis plenamente y en este sitio, encontrareis ese libro que además, habla de vuestra música preferida.
